We Robot 2027 is an international platform to discuss current and future robotics and AI policy. We bring together academics, policymakers, business leaders and the broader expert community to discuss shared strategies for managing the rapid advancements in robotics and AI. As the 15th annual conference, We Robot 2027 will be hosted by the Institute for Ethics in AI at the University of Oxford.

About We Robot
We Robot is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed conference that brings together leading scholars and practitioners to discuss legal, ethical and policy implications of robots and other emergent digital technologies. Recognised as one of the most exciting interdisciplinary conferences on the societal implications of robotics, WeRobot has previously been hosted at Yale, Stanford, Ottawa, Seattle, Miami, and Boston in the United States; in Windsor, Canada; and Berlin, Germany. We Robot strives for international collaboration and practical solidarity in the academic world.

Conference Chair
Dr Keri Grieman is an Early Career Research Fellow in Ethics in AI and Law at the Institute and a Research Fellow at Oriel College. Dr Grieman works in law, regulation, and policy for AI. She is the author of Law, Death, and Robots: The Regulation of Artificial Intelligence in High-Risk Civil Applications, published by Hart. Her research aims to bridge the gaps between law, technology, and responsible innovation. Dr Grieman is the Conference Chair for We Robot 2027.
Programme committee
Ignacio Cofone is Professor of Law and Regulation of AI at the Faculty of Law and the Institute for Ethics in AI. His work examines how the law can and should adapt to AI-driven social and economic changes. His current research projects focus on how to address nonmaterial AI harm and on regulatory design that fosters human-centered AI innovation.
Dr Caroline Emmer De Albuquerque Green is the Institute’s Director of Research and Head of Public Engagement, leading the Institute's Accelerator Fellowship Programme. Caroline's research focuses on AI and human rights, specifically in the fields of health and social care. Caroline holds a LLB (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh, an MSc in Human Rights from the LSE, a MA in Investigative Journalism from City University and a PhD in Gerontology from King's College London.
Raphaël Millière is an Associate Professor of Theoretical Philosophy associated with Jesus College and AI2050 Fellow. His research investigates foundational questions about the cognitive capacities and limitations of AI systems.
